ECHO MAD

Introducing ECHO-MAD - 'Does Echo Change the Management of patient Directed Therapy in Intensive Care?'

Get INVOLVED

This is your opportunity to be involved in cutting edge research in UK Intensive Care units.

This study is supported by the Intensive Care Society (ICS), FUSIC, British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) and the Trainee Research in Intensive Care (TRIC) Network.

It is expected that the data entry for the study will occur for 2 weeks within a period between 28th September and 19th October.

There will be a second round of data entry in early 2027.

Who are we looking for?

UK based Intensive Resident Doctors/ AHPs with a keen interest in research and echocardiography.

Roles available:

Regional Leads- To take the lead in their region and getting hospitals within it involved and active

Site leads: To lead their hospital in gathering data and assisting with data entry

Local investigators: To perform or review echocardiograms and enter data into the REDCap online system.

What will be required:

A short questionnaire following any echocardiograms performed on your Intensive Care Unit entered into an online database. Each entry should take between 3-4 minutes.

What's in it for you?:

Regional leads will have an opportunity to be co-authors on any later published papers in peer reviewed journals. Site leads will have the opportunity to become collaborators on any journal articles written. Local investigators will be able to use proof of involvement in the project to link to HiLOs in the Stage1/2/3 curriculum of both ICM and Anaesthetics.

How you can get involved?:

You can email echomadstudy@gmail.com with an expression of interest. We will be in touch with the protocol and how to get started.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
