Join the Committee

We are seeking motivated and organised individuals to join the UK Trainee Research in Intensive Care (TRIC) Network Committee. We are a national network that works to promote and facilitate research activity among resident doctors.

We are excited to recruit three new committee members.

Role and responsibilities

All committee members will be expected to attend regular committee meetings, contribute to our successful national projects, represent the committee at national events (State of the Art, Intensivists in Training conference), and help with any administrative tasks related to committee work.

Each of the three available roles has a specific portfolio of work:

  • Treasurer: responsible for managing the network bank account and regular payments, applying for and organising grants from our supporting partners, facilitating expenses claims, and supporting the wider work of the network.

  • Education Lead: this role supports our wider remit of promoting research and academic careers amongst resident intensivists. This involves designing and leading new education projects and content, promoting our collaborative competitions, and organising and supporting educational events.

  • Communications Lead: this role centres on promoting the network at a national and international level and helping with the network's administrative workload. This will involve assisting with correspondence, promoting the network via social media, and contributing to website content. This role will involve close collaboration with our existing IT team.

Applicants should be resident doctors with an interest in ICM and a strong interest in clinical research. Previous experience in committee roles, regional representation, or leading multi-site projects is desirable but not essential. Enthusiasm, initiative, and a collaborative mindset are most important. We will prioritise those who have previously worked with the network.

All applicants should be resident doctors who are not expected to achieve CCT within the next year.

To apply:
If you are interested in any of these roles, please email tricnetwork@gmail.com with a CV (maximum 2 pages) and a short personal statement (maximum 500 words) outlining your interest in one of the roles and why you would be a suitable candidate.

If you would like to be considered for more than one role, please state this in your email.

The application closing date is 26 October 2026.
